L.A. Metro will suspend fare collection on trains and buses through Sunday as wildfires continue to ravage some areas of the county, officials announced Saturday.

The agency announced earlier this week that Los Angeles County Supervisor and Metro Commission Chair Janice Hahn had authorized the agency to suspend fare collection systemwide. The agency has extended free rides into the weekend to help residents move, including to evacuation centers.

Metro has also created a map showing shelters and resource centers located near bus and rail lines.

Officials said wildfires and winds are affecting service on some bus and rail routes, so passengers should allow extra time to board.

Current service alerts are:

A LINE: Due to wind damage to overhead wires, bus shuttles will replace trains in both directions between Southwest Museum Station and Fillmore Station. This work will continue until Saturday. Please allow plenty of time for your trip to and from the San Gabriel Valley.

Line 134: Canceled due to fire in Palisades area.

Lines 180 and 217: Buses will be detoured between Los Feliz Boulevard/San Fernando and Vermont/Prospect due to downed power lines. Buses serving Sunset, Alvarado, Glendale, Rowena, Hyperion, Glendale, and San Fernando.

Routes 660 and 662: Due to wildfires, there is no service north of Washington Boulevard in the Pasadena and Altadena areas.

Route 296: Buses will be detoured to the 5 Freeway between Los Feliz Boulevard and Western Avenue.

Line 602: Canceled due to fire in Palisades area.

Route 690: Buses in both directions use Freeway 210 between Foothill/Arroyo and Paxton/McRae.

Metro Micro: In Pasadena, Altadena and Sierra Madre, traffic north of Woodbury Road, New York Drive and Sierra Madre Boulevard is suspended. Service has been restored in the following areas.
*Rose Bowl area
*Lincoln Boulevard south of Montana Street
*Montana Street and South, between the 210 Freeway and Los Robles Avenue
*Elizabeth Street and south between Los Robles Avenue and Hill Avenue
*New York Drive and south between Hill Avenue and Altadena Drive
