The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office has a message to protesters who assaulted officers and destroyed public property. We will find you.
A team of experienced prosecutors will begin analyzing police arrest reports starting Tuesday, District Attorney Nathan Hochman told NBC Los Angeles.
“You want to risk the lives of your officers and damage public property. We will hold you accountable,” the district attorney said.
The investigation includes coming through Facebook, Instagram and Tiktok as many violent protesters tend to flaunt their crimes on social media.
“You have the ability to withdraw some of the people who committed those crimes,” Hochman said. “You can track these posts down to real people. It may take a while, but you’ll get there.”
Hochmann presented thousands of people who had been destructed, looted and destroyed peacefully protested, but many criminals said they might believe the outcome was mild.
“People might believe that DA will slap you on the wrist,” warned Hochman. “No one wants to come back. I didn’t know this was coming.”
Hochman, a former Republican, declined to comment on the conflict between President Trump and the governor over the deployment of the National Guard.
