A veteran Los Angeles Metro bus driver who narrowly escaped with his life after being brutally targeted by his ex-girlfriend on the bus is now understandably terrified as his 45-year-old attacker has yet to be caught. .
Police said the Nov. 16 violence occurred just before 7:30 a.m. when Metrobus operator Demetra Kimble parked her transit bus near a bus stop at Hollywood Boulevard and Vermont Avenue for a break.
There were no other passengers on the Metrobus at that time in the morning.
Family members told KTLA’s Chris Wolfe that Kimble’s ex-boyfriend, with whom she had broken off, showed up unannounced and opened fire as she struggled for cover.
Kimble suffered gunshot wounds to the jaw, hand and buttocks in the surprise attack and was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
The gunman, identified as Dorian Holt, fled the area after the shooting. Authorities said the man was wearing a black sweatshirt, dark pants, and a black baseball cap with a white Los Angeles Dodgers logo.

It’s unclear how long Kimble and Holt have been dating or if she ever filed a domestic violence report against her abuser, but her nephew Marcus McKinney said she was He explained the reason for breaking up the relationship.
“I think things had reached a point where things were escalating for her and she felt she didn’t need to be in that situation,” he says. “There was certainly a history of violence.”

McKinney told KTLA that while her aunt loves working in public transit and has tremendous support from her fellow subway operators and administrators, including Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass, Holt’s top priority is Holt. He said they must locate him and arrest him.
“She tried to retreat because she had no idea this was going to happen,” McKinney said. “Unfortunately, he basically shot her at close range. We never want to see something like this happen.”
Kimble continues to recover, but due to his injuries he is currently unable to speak and can only communicate using paper and pen.
