The ups and downs of Los Angeles temperature roller coasters continue into the weekend until late this week.
The region’s temperatures will rise above normal Thursday on Thursday, and even warmer weather on Friday could reach triple digits in some areas. Highs drive over 10 degrees above normal parts of Southern California.
“The weather today will be warmer than yesterday,” said NBC4 meteorologist Belem de Leon. “Tomorrow is when I hope to reach the peak of heat.”
Expect highs of 95 in Lancaster, 88 at San Bernardino, 72 at Irvine, 86 at Santa Clarita and 86 at Vannuys.
The 97-degree high is Santa Clarita’s forecast on Friday.
The cooler conditions return on Saturday, with temperatures dropping in most parts of the area.
The weekend also offers shower opportunities, including a possible thunderstorm. Precipitation is most likely in the San Gabriel Mountains.
Tropical depression, which developed southwest of Mexico, will move north, bringing opportunities for showers and mountain thunderstorms on Sundays.
“This movement and weather pattern is here in SoCal, so we’re going to be draining some of that tropical moisture into our area,” De Leon said. “Adding more humidity and adding more humidity contributes to the shower potential.”
Continue cooling from Sunday to Wednesday to Wednesday, and expect readings to immerse normally below 5-10 degrees by the middle of the week before another warming trend.
