Lady Gaga brings Mayhem Ball to Inglewood

The little monster of her fanbase nickname, Lady Gaga, danced the night on Monday when the singer held the first show of four shows of her mayhem balls at the Kia Forum in Inglewood.

“Welcome to Opera House,” she cried to the crowd.

The mayhem ball comes after the singer’s 2022 Chromatica Ball.

This stage was founded as an actual opera house with a theme of shows influenced by the “Phantom of Opera.” In Gaga’s version, she is both a phantom and a reading lady.

Her operas are five acts, each telling stories in a variety of songs from her nearly 20 years of career.

The show began strongly with its 14 Grammy Awards, closing out “Bloody Mary” from its 2011 album Born This Way. What once was a deep cut for fans has become a mainstream favorite thanks to Netflix’s hit Wednesday. Actress Jenna Ortega’s dance in the episode quickly went viral, with various tiktoks emulating the movement.

As the crowd warmed, Gaga jumped into her hit “Abracadabra” and the party began.

The tour comes right after her seventh studio album, Mayhem, but the Oscar winner made sure to include hits that her little monsters were heard, regardless of when she became a fan.

For fans on the first day, we made sure to include hits like “Just Dance,” “LoveGame,” and “Summer Boy” from their 2008 debut album “The Fame.” Of course, she played staples such as “Alejandro,” “Pokerface,” “Paparazzi,” “Born,” “Shallow,” and “Applause.”

It was sprinkled with new hits like “Garden of Eden,” “Zombie Boy,” “The Man’s Shadow,” and “The Killer.”

The audience rose even among the 39-year-old costume changes as the band and dancers continued to party for the first 90 minutes.

Things didn’t slow down until she played “A Million Reasons” and “Shallow” from the 2018 film “A Star Is Born.” She then walked to the piano to perform “Die with a Smile,” a collaboration with Bruno Mars.

As the crowd cried out in applause, Gaga told the crew that he warned the crew that they were worried about what things would look like as there was a show Monday night.

“You guys showed me,” she said quietly as the audience laughed.

She then became sentimental and explained to the crowd that she moved from her hometown of New York City to Los Angeles when she was 19 years old to pursue her dreams.

“It wasn’t always easy. I want to thank everyone in this room tonight. People didn’t believe me all the time, but you really believed me tonight,” she said, restraining her tears.

She then ran “Vanish Into You” from “Mayhem.” She usually devotes her songs to her fans, but this time she asked to share them with the two nies who were in the audience.

“They said this is their favorite song. I always devote this to the fans. Would you like to share it with them tonight?” she asked. “I can’t do it without my family. One day, I will disappear to each of you.”

She concocted songs and roamed the boundaries of the audience before vanishing behind the scenes.

However, without the 2009 hit “Bad Romance,” Gaga’s show wouldn’t be complete.

The lights were off as fans thought the show was over as the credits rolled on the big screen behind the stage.

A while later, the camera took off her makeup behind the scenes and said, “How bad is she? She continued singing, and the dancers returned to the stage to join her one by one. The party continued until she performed another song, a surprise encore for “Swine,” a song from her 2013 album “Artpop.”

So far, at each show on the tour, she ends with a different song.

“I love you, get the f-k now!” she cried out to the crowd as she ran behind the scenes.

Mayhemball will return to the KIA Forum on July 29th and then head to Ticketmaster.com for tickets and information on August 1st and 2nd.
