The rescue crew safely rolled up the injured hiker Saturday morning in a remote location on Shawl Canyon Fire Road near the Eagle Rock and Glendale border after suffering what officials described as a serious leg or ankle injury.
The Los Angeles Fire Department deployed two rescue helicopters due to the difficult terrain and the severity of her injuries.
To continue in-flight care during direct air transport to the community hospital, flight paramedics were dropped to the scene to evaluate and stabilize the women before both were caught up in the helicopter.

Authorities have confirmed that there are no wildfires in the area, presumably in response to inquiries, considering helicopter activities. Multiple ground and air units worked together to provide complex rescues.
A video shared via the Civic App showed a helicopter using a rope system to evacuate injured hikers and hovering over the mountains.
No other injuries have been reported as a result of this incident.
