The arrest of an East Los Angeles man on Thursday morning was allegedly handing out face shields during an anti-ice protest earlier this week.
FBI agents were sent earlier this week to arrest Alejandro Theodoro Orellana, who is allegedly “distributed face shields to suspects.” The US Bill Essay was posted to X along with a video of a man handing out gear to protesters from behind a pickup truck.
“We are moving swiftly to identify and arrest people involved in organizing and/or assisting civil disability in Los Angeles,” the essayri said in the post.
Residents living in the East Sixth Avenue and South Rowan Avenue areas said they woke up to the sound of flash bangs and called on authorities to stay indoors.

The resident told KTLA’s Jacqueline Sarkisian that he didn’t know much about Olerana, but he didn’t know of any criminal history he may have.

When he was talking to KTLA, residents were not yet aware of why authorities had arrested Olerana.
Video recorded by Citizen.com showed a small crowd screaming at law enforcement near East Sixth Avenue and South Dittman Avenue around 6:30am
Some are seen using a bullhorn, while others are asked to shout the explanatory phrases to their agents, call them “f ——Nazis” and get “from here f —-“”.
At one point, one of the lawmakers walked towards the woman and moved her to leave the patrol vehicle. He then returned to the SUV and stood with his second aide, but they did not appear to be engaged in dialogue with the group.
Law enforcement left the area around 6:45am after the arrest.
