Authorities are investigating a series of robberies at a Boyle Heights strip mall that occurred early Monday morning.
According to a spokesman for the Los Angeles Police Department, officers responded to the 3400 block of Whittier Boulevard around 5:12am with a robbery call.
No officers believed to have multiple suspects involved were found when they arrived at the scene. Several officers and patrol vehicles remained in the strip mall parking lot for more than an hour to search for evidence and conduct an investigation.
Evacuated students are attending new temporary campus schools for the first time since Eaton Fire.
The spokesman was unable to provide more details, but the front doors of three business (small Caesar, subway and Boba Baba Joy) were destroyed. The door to Little Caesars was boarded by 8:30am.
Other facilities at the strip mall, including Wingstop, were left alone.

Contractor Zach Logston said he was working at Wingstop when the intrusion occurred and that happened under his nose and shook him a little.
“I was working there…and the delivery driver came in and said, ‘someone was breaking into three businesses next to me.’ “What happens is crazy and you don’t even know about it…it’s happening just below your nose.”
“It rattles your bones a bit, you know…I’m happy it didn’t happen to me because I don’t know what I did,” he continued.

Subway employees told KTLA that private cash had been collected. If anything, it is unknown what was taken from the other two businesses that were hits.
At least three suspects may be involved in the incident, police say. However, the explanation was not immediately available.
