Co-sponsors of the Forces Resolution, Ro Khanna (D-Calif) and Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) criticized President Donald Trump for greenlighting attacks on three Iranian nuclear sites on Saturday night.

“This is not a constitution,” Massie said.

The strike between Israel and Iran has been furious, and a bipartisan war power resolution was introduced in the House this week, with the world facing off to see if Trump would attack.

A familiar source is Fox News Digital, house speaker R-La. and Senate majority leader John Thune, Rs.D. both said they had been explained about the strike in advance.

“Instinct for Restraint”: The Senate separates who will declare war

“Trump attacked Iran without Congressional permission. I’ll need to return to DC soon and vote for @Repthomasmassie and my war power resolution.

Members of the “Squad” GOP lawmakers join forces to refuse Israeli-Iran’s involvement in the war

This week, lawmakers squealed about Trump’s unconstitutionality as he strikes Iran without Congressional approval. Parliament has the only power to declare war under Article 1 of the Constitution.

The forces resolution aims to “eliminate US troops from unauthorized hostilities in Iran’s Islamic state,” and directs Trump to “end” the deployment of US troops against Iran without “an approved or specific approval declaration for the use of the military against Iran.”

Just as Trump announced his strike against Iran – without Congressional approval – Kanna said representatives should return to Capitol Hill to prevent further escalation.

And in the room at the top, D-Va. Sen. Tim Kane of the family’s bipartisan duo introduced his own war power resolution. The resolution had been steaming with his colleagues, but the momentum could halt due to the strike. His resolution is a privilege and means lawmakers must take that into consideration. You can vote on Fridays.

President Donald Trump speaks to reporters late Monday, June 16, 2025, while riding in the Air Force on the way from Calgary, Canada to a joint base in Andrews, Maryland.

In a statement, Kane argued that “the American people are overwhelmingly opposed to the US war of voyage with Iran.”

“And the Israeli Foreign Minister confirmed yesterday that Israeli bombings have brought Iran’s nuclear program back to “at least three, three years,” he said. “So why did Trump recklessly decide to rush to bomb today? A horrifying judgment. I’ll push all senators to vote on whether they’re there for this third, ridiculous Middle East war.”

This week, on Capitol Hill, the conservative fiscal hawk Massy, who refused to sign Trump’s “Big Beautiful Building,” he built a relentless, bipartisan coalition of lawmakers resisting US involvement in the Middle East conflict.

“This is not our war, but if that were the case, Congress must decide such matters according to our constitution,” Massey said.

Massey, who threatened the primary during Trump’s negotiations for the House GOP Megaville, said, “invited all members of Congress to conspire with this resolution.” By Tuesday night, the bipartisan bill had garnered 27 co-stars, including representatives of progressive “squad” members, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Ilhan Omar.

Crossing the political aisle, R-Ga. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, of the author, informed her support, writing that Americans “will not go to another foreign war” with affordable living expenses, safe communities and quality education.

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga. will leave the Capitol Hill Club after the House Republican Conference meeting on Tuesday, March 25th, 2025.

“This is not our fight,” Greene doubled on Saturday night before Trump’s truth social announcement.

The bill’s original co-sponsors also include representatives of progressive Democrats. Pramila Jayapal, Summer Lee, Ayana Presley and Rashida Tribe called it unconstitutional, saying, “Trump goes to war without voting in Congress.”

White House Press Secretary Caroline Leavitt said Thursday that Trump will make his decision on whether to bomb Iran within two weeks.

“We have completed a very successful attack on three nuclear sites in Iran, including Fordau, Natanz and Esfahan. All planes are currently outside of Iranian airspace. A large number of bombs have been dropped on the primary site. All planes will safely return home, I said on Saturday night.

Israel launched a preemptive attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities and military leaders last week. The Islamic Republic considered it a “declaration of war.” The strike between Israel and Iran is furious, as Trump said he is considering whether to sign off on a US strike against Iran.

The Jewish state has targeted Iran’s nuclear capabilities after months of failure in negotiations in the region, raising concerns about the development of Iran’s nuclear weapons.

However, Iran’s Ambassador to Geneva, Ali Bareini, said Iran “continue to produce rich uranium as long as it is necessary for peaceful purposes.”
