Many Angelenos don’t seem to notice cheap ride-sharing programs that can win the Los Angeles County area at a much lower rate than some well-known companies.
“The best secret of LA Transit may have launched the cheapest rideshare in the city, but very few people have spoken about it.
Metro Micro offers on-demand ride sharing services within eight designated zones within Los Angeles County, according to the Metro website. Some transfers have an additional small fee.
“The app updates have been rolled out, but sometimes they have 16 reviews and a 1.9 star rating. That means most people in LA don’t even think that this exists,” said the LA Mission Post.

But the program exists. In fact, Metro Micro was introduced over four years ago as part of the Metro bus network transformation.
“Metro Micro is an on-demand shared ride service using a van for short trips within designated service zones in Los Angeles County,” Metro said when introducing the service.
The program is expanding over time with services currently available in the following eight zones: Watts/Compton, Lux/Inglewood, North Hollywood/Burbank, El Monte, Highland Park/Eagle Rock/Glendale, Altadena/Pasadena/Sierra Madre, Northwest San Fernando Valley, UCLA/Westwood/VA Medical Center.
Metro Micro vehicles do not accept cash payments on board, but offer two payment methods.
