A Loma Linda man was arrested Saturday after allegedly shooting someone during an argument and threatening to have a firearm, a large-capacity magazine and explosives, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Director.
Deputies at the department’s central station responded to the 25,300 block of Cole Street around 10:35am on July 26, following reports of a crime threat involving firearms. Upon arrival, they identified the suspect as Shane Shaffy, 35, of Loma Linda.
Investigators allege Shafi threatened to shoot the victim during the verbal confrontation. He was detained at the scene and the deputies learned that they had multiple firearms registered in his name through record checks.

A search warrant for Shaffi’s residence was obtained. During the search, authorities seized several firearms, ammunition, a large-capacity magazine, and about 1.5 pounds of tannerite. This is a commercially available binary explosive used in targeted photography. The department’s arson and bomb division owned explosives.
According to Deputy Robert Berler, Shafi was booked at the Central Detention Centre on suspicion of criminal threats and possession of material.
