LOS ANGELES (KTLA) – Southern California residents can expect another flare-up of fire conditions this week, but residents in all areas should remain vigilant, according to the National Weather Service.
The NWS said conditions are expected to be particularly hazardous along the I-5 Freeway in northern Los Angeles County, the San Fernando Valley and much of southern Ventura County. These conditions are expected to last from 4 a.m. Tuesday until noon Wednesday.

“Never do anything that could start a fire,” the NWS added.
Affected areas and cities include San Fernando, Porter Ranch, Simi Valley, Thousand Oaks, Camarillo, and Ventura.
The National Weather Service provided this map on January 13, 2025, showing “particularly hazardous conditions” due to wildfires.
Although winds are expected to be “weaker than last week,” the winds are “strong enough to potentially cause explosive fire spread,” officials said.

These wind gusts can be between 45 mph and 110 mph and strong enough to cause localized damage.
Winds are not expected to be as strong in other parts of the region, but humidity is expected to be low everywhere, which could lead to fires across Southern California.
