Churches in Los Angeles are seeking prayers after it was destroyed on Ash Wednesday, a sacred day for Catholics.
According to a church’s Instagram post, the vandalism occurred on the evening of March 5th at the mother of Good Counsel Church in the Los Ferris district.
The faith leader shared photos of the incident with KTLA, showing broken stained glass windows and damage to a fire inside the church. The bookshelves with the Bible at the back of the church were one of the burnt items.

The costs to repair the damage were not confirmed by the church.

Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent, observed by Christians in preparation for Easter and celebrated with church members who receive ashes in the form of crosses on their foreheads.
