A peace officer at a state prison in Los Angeles County reportedly committed by a 28-year-old inmate at the facility, which is why officials with the California Department of Corrections Department of Corrections reportedly announced.
According to a CDCR news release, the violence unfolded in one of the facility’s outdoor yards just before noon on June 9th.
“The officer suffered multiple puncture injuries in the back of his head,” the official said. “The staff used physical forces and chemicals to quickly subdue the attack.”
The unidentified officer was rushed to the prison’s treatment and triage area before being taken to a hospital outside the facility.

The suspect’s inmate, identified as Kosmin Badiou, was recently transferred from San Diego County to the LA County Jail in August 2019. He was sentenced to nine years in first-degree robbery as the second striker to strengthen his previous felony conviction of a serious crime.

Investigators at the scene found improvised weapons that could be used in the attack.
BADIU added that while the case is under investigation, the officials will be moved to a restricted home and sued to the LA County District Attorney’s Office for a possible felony prosecutor.
The officers were listed as “good” and authorities said they were waiting to be discharged from the hospital.
Los Angeles County, California State Jail opened in 1993 and houses a minimum of 2,700 people, medium, maximum and high security prisoners.
