(KTLA) – Los Angeles County officials on Monday urged the public to prepare as dangerous Santa Ana winds return to Southern California, increasing the risk of explosive wildfires.
The National Weather Service is predicting another particularly dangerous red flag and extreme fire weather event between noon Monday and 2 p.m. Tuesday.
Maximum wind speeds can reach 50 to 70 mph along the coast and valleys, with gusts reaching 60 to 160 mph in some parts of the mountains and foothills.

The red flag warning is expected to remain in place until at least Thursday, the Bureau of Meteorology said.
The Los Angeles County Fire Department has ordered additional personnel and pre-positioning of ground and air resources throughout the county, officials said.
Residents were urged to register for emergency alerts and make evacuation plans.
