Officials have told swimmers to think twice before jumping into the Los Angeles County waters.
A warning that serves as caution rather than an order comes after destruction from the fire of the devastating Palisade was found in the seawater off the coast of Malibu.
The warning extends from Las Flores State Beach in Malibu to Santa Monica State Beach.
They will be effective until further notice.

Swimming in that water is not expressly prohibited, but officials have warned the public to stay away from the debris.
“Ocean Water Advisory doesn’t mean “don’t go to the beach at all” or “don’t go underwater,” said Nicole Mooradan of the LA County Beach and Harbor Department. “It’s so much.” We really recommend you leave the water, but if you decide to enter, it’s your own fault. “Please go outside too. ”
Part of the recovery effort includes searching for potentially contaminated materials that may have slipped into the ocean. Potential rain over the next few days could push more debris into the water.
Sediments in the sand are not a risk for beach people, officials say, but it’s best to avoid all the debris on the sand.
