The Los Angeles native will join more than 250 seriously injured and injured service members and veterans at the 2025 Department of Defense Warrior Game Challenge in Colorado next month.
Hospital Commander, 3rd Class David Duggan, US Navy (Ret.) will represent Team Navy at the University of Colorado in Colorado Springs July 18-26. Athletes will take part in adaptive events such as archery, indoor rowing, powerlifting, and precision air sports.

Duggan, who joined the Navy in 2018, said the service felt like it would never have been a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. After resignation, he found an updated connection through adaptive sports.
“Being a part of the Team Navy has given us a sense of friendship that we felt declined after retiring from the Navy,” Duggan said in an article by Navy Outreach. “The friendship and contact information this program has given me exceeded what I had hoped for.”
Now in its 15th year, Warrior Games is hosted by US military training and doctrine headquarters, bringing athletes from the military department and the US Special Operations Command. Medals are awarded, but this competition mainly celebrates perseverance and resilience.

Avid outdoorsman, Duggan discovered precision air sports at his first adaptation camp earlier this year. A self-proclaimed adrenaline addict, he also enjoys surfing, snowboarding and cliff jumping, and continues to coordinate and engage in these activities.
