Loved ones and detectives are asking for the community’s help in locating a teenage girl who went missing Friday night.
According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, county resident Ramia Witherspoon was last seen on Dec. 27 at 11 p.m. in the 100 block of South Bowen Court in Compton.
Authorities described Witherspoon as a 17-year-old black female, 5 feet 2 inches tall and weighing 102 pounds. She has brown hair in braids, brown eyes, and wears glasses.
Additional visual descriptions released by the sheriff’s office to aid in the search included that Witherspoon’s lower teeth were crooked and that she had scars on the lower left and right sides of her back.
Officials said Witherspoon was wearing a black dress with a hoodie when she was last seen.
The girl’s family is concerned for her safety and is pleading with local residents to help find her and bring her home.
Details are limited, and authorities did not immediately say whether Witherspoon’s destination was suspicious or what her last communication with loved ones was.
The Sheriff’s Department is asking anyone with information regarding the boy’s whereabouts to contact the Compton Sheriff’s Office Detective Bureau or the on-duty commander at 310-605-6500.
