The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced Thursday that the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office was charged with stealing stolen goods by a Westlake business owner.
The Blanca Escobar business on Sixth Avenue across from MacArthur Park has $360,000 worth of stolen goods, including cosmetics, clothing and toiletries, and the products were obtained from CV, Target, Walgreens, Kroger, Ross, TJ Max and Macy’s, according to the DA’s office.
District Attorney Nathan Hochman said his office was “energized” trying to combat organized retail theft with the Los Angeles police and other law enforcement agencies.
“This case is an important step in cleaning MacArthur Park, a community that has long struggled with crime and safety concerns,” Hochman said. “Retail theft is not tolerated under my watch.”
