Residents of the Malibu stripe were advised on Wednesday to use only boiled tap water or bottled water for drinking or cooking due to the recent pressure dip caused by the Bridge Representative Project.
Boiling water notifications from the Los Angeles County Waterworks area were issued to customers west of Corral Canyon and Solstice Canyon Roads, with the exception of people from Trancas Canyon and Latigo Canyon.
According to the city of Malibu, the issue stems from a recent low-pressure event in the water system caused by the Caltrans Bridge Exchange Project in Solstis Canyon Creek. Customers were encouraged to boil tap water or use bottled water “to avoid stomach and intestinal diseases.”
From brushing your teeth to cooking, there are things you need to know about staying safe during boiling water recommendations.
“Do not supply pets/living animals until tap water is safe or safe,” city officials advised.
Residents will be notified when the water is taken safely again.
Meanwhile, bottled water is being distributed to customers affected by Waterworks District Headquarters at 23533 Civic Center Way.
Distributions continue until 8pm on Wednesdays, then from 9am to 6pm on Thursdays and Fridays.
