Zohran Mamdani’s past comments are back again to haunt his New York City mayoral campaign. This is because socialist candidates have made it clear that “the abolition of private property” has emerged.
“My platform is that each person should have a home. And I think I’m facing these two options. There are people in the system that don’t have hundreds of thousands of people, right?” Mamdani asked in a resurface video that was cut out and reposted throughout conservative social media.
“If there’s a system that can guarantee each person’s housing, whether they call it abolition of private property or not, if it’s just a statewide housing guarantee, that’s better than what’s happening right now,” Mamdani said.
“People try to play like a gotcha game about these kinds of things, and it’s more of a concern about whether someone has a home or not,” he said.

The clip was widely criticized by conservatives, including GOP MP Nicole Malliotakes, who spoke to Fox News Digital.
“The fact that there are too many members of the media, too many members of the Democrats, not calling him, they are willing to go along with him, is in the way, and if the majority of New Yorkers knew this guy was really destructive and dangerous, then I think we know how destructive and dangerous his policies are, as many people in our city led us to where we were, our city, and so we led to where we were, and we said.
Mike Lawler, a GOP lawmaker who represents New York’s 17th Congressional District, also had problems with the post.

“The call to abolish Zoran Mamdani’s private property is dangerous and non-American,” Lawler said.
“It’s like radical socialist nonsense that destroys livelihoods in Hudson Valley and across New York. This creates economic disruption and New Yorkers are better than the tactile extremists pushing the Communist Party’s agenda that threatens our way of life.”
“The Mamdani’s call to abolish private property is not only radical, but dangerous,” RN.Y. Rep. Claudia Tenney told Fox News Digital. “To strip off this fundamental rights will destroy families, close small businesses, destroy the entire community, and pass more power to the government. Private property is a fundamental constitutional principle. It represents the essence of personal freedom, economic opportunity, and the American dream. We must adhere to it.”
“Mumdani doesn’t offer housing plans – he’s promoting a communist manifesto. The idea of abolishing private property is fundamentally anti-American and not touched violently on the real issues faced by New Yorkers.” “Families are fleeing the city and our state because of high costs, crime and broken leadership, not because of too much freedom. Does New York want a mayor who believes in safety and prosperity, or a communist who wants to grab your home?”
The comments also sparked the Firestorm on social media.
“Yeah, this guy is definitely not a communist,” Donald Trump Jr. recently told Fox News Digital about his prospect of Mamdani being mayor, and was sarcastically featured on X.
“He’s a communist,” Sen. Ted Cruz responded to the virus clip for X.

“Like I said he was a communist,” Fox News contributor Mark Thiessen posted on X.
“Yes, you heard that,” New York GOP MP Elise Stefanik posted to X.
“Meet the new Democratic leader,” GOP Sen. Roger Marshall posted to X. “He’s literally a communist.”
As his surprising victory at a leading Democratic player lost him to national recognition, Mamdani faced intense criticism and was labelled “communists” of various positions he supported, including the social media he has been plagued by.
