One officer and four civilians were killed in the midtown shooting

Senior correspondent for Fox News, Eric Shawn, has reported on the shooting that killed one NYPD officer and four civilians from Midtown, with the number expected to rise, according to senior NYPD officials on “Hannity.”

New York City’s Democratic mayoral candidate Zoran Mandani faces new scrutiny of his past stances in the wake of a mass shooting of an office building in Manhattan, midtown, where four civilians have been killed, and a mass shooting of an office building that left a male off-camp working on security.

The shooter was neutralised as more information is being learned about Shane Tamura in Las Vegas.

“I’m screaming to learn of the horrific shooting in Midtown and I have put the victims, their families and NYPD officials in a state of crisis in my mind. I would like to thank all my first responders on the ground,” Mamdani posted on X on Monday night.

Adams, Cuomo turned the jab into a trade revolution in an interview, and court anti-Mandani vote

NEW YORK, NY – July 15: Zohran Mamdani, the democratic socialist candidate who won the Democratic primary for New York City, will speak at a support event from union DC 37 on July 15, 2025 in New York City. A few weeks after Mamdani won the mayoral Democratic primary, various wealthy interest groups began mobilizing against the 33-year-old state legislator. For a year, Mamdani vowed to freeze rent increases, make buses free and increase taxes on wealthy New Yorkers. Former Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced Monday that he will continue his run towards the mayor of New York City after losing to Zoran Mamdani in the Democratic primary last month. In the reply, people immediately shared images in the post on June 8, 2020, where Mamdani said, “No, I want to refund the police,” and on November 5, 2020, “Querior Release means exemption from police.”

“No investigation is needed to know that the NYPD is racist, anti-Quer and a major threat to public safety. #DefundTheNypd. [New York City mayor] Use budget tricks to keep as many cops as possible with beats. Not in fake reductions – police refund,” he posted on June 28, 2020.

In December of the same year, he sought it to be “dismantled.”

“All this misery. All for the money. On the last budget, the city council tried to have the NYPD cut its overtime budget by half. They simply refused. There is no negotiation with this evil and corrupt institution. We will refund it.

However, he sang another song during the mayoral debate in his primary election.

“I will not refund the police. I will work with the police because I believe that police have an important role to play in public services, public safety,” he said.

On his campaign website, he is calling for the creation of a Public Safety Agency.

“The police have an important role, but for now we are relying on them to deal with the failures of our social safety net, which prevents them from doing their actual work.

Other mayoral candidates also condemned the tragedy in Manhattan on Monday night.

“I’m going to go to the hospital and talk to the family and loved ones involved in this incident,” Adams said in the video.

“I’m terrified of the shooting in Midtown. I’m grateful for the courage of the NYPD and the first responders. My prayers are with the victims and their families,” former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo posted.

“Intrusive Reports from Midtown Manhattan – reportedly, gunmen, including NYPD officials, pray to all affected people. We would like to thank the first responders who run towards danger to keep us safe,” wrote Republican mayoral candidate Curtis Swa.

The Mayor’s race on the Fourth of the Four will be held on November 4th. Adams chose to run as an independent after the final cycle of Democratic candidates. And Cuomo’s decision to stay in the race comes after Mamdani defeated him with the primary, which was considered an upset victory.

Fox News Digital reached out to Mamdani’s campaign for comments but did not respond immediately
