The FBI issued compensation for information about anyone believed to have fired during immigration enforcement activities in rural Ventura County.
The federal operation at Glasshouse Farm near Camarillo attracted dozens of protesters who clashed with federal agents on a road surrounded by farms and greenhouses in northwest Los Angeles. Authorities said the individual fired multiple shots, but it was not immediately clear whether the shooter was targeting federal agents or firing indiscriminately.
No injuries related to the shooting have been reported.
The video for NewsChopper4 appeared to show people raising firearms as people scrambled following the tear gas development. The US lawyers’ firm shared photos of the man authorities are seeking.
The FBI issued a $50,000 award for information shared on social media that led to the conviction of anyone believed to have fired the pistol.
There were dozens of people detained in connection with enforcement activities.
Glass House Farms said on social media that he was visited by staff on Thursday for immigration and customs enforcement and “complied with the agent’s search warrants.”
It is legal to grow and sell cannabis in California with a proper license. State records show that the company has multiple active licenses to grow cannabis.
The same day, federal law enforcement operations took place at the company Carpinteria location on the Santa Barbara County coast.
Federal immigration enforcement agents have stepped up arrests in Southern California, operating in car washes, farms and car parks for home improvement stores. The Trump administration has revitalized the National Guard to protect federal property and staff, with several security guards and vehicles seen near Camarillo.
Ventura County Firefighters – Pamelamics responded to the site and took several people to hospitals. Details of the injury were not immediately available.
