The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department announced Wednesday that the Transportation Services Department had arrested a man who threatened a crew member on the Lawndale Metro Railroad Expansion Project.
Daniel Doyle Skalion, 28, sent the threat electronically on February 20, the agency said in a news release.
“The anonymous email contained a direct and surprising statement that Metro employees claimed they would be “photoed,” the release explained. “In response, TSB detectives immediately began a detailed investigation to track down the cause of the threat.”
The agents did not detail how they were identifying exactly how they were identified.
Scallion is scheduled to appear in court on Friday, and is being held in place of a $50,000 bail. He is currently housed at the inmate reception centre, prison records show.
“This timely enforcement action highlights the efforts of TSB deputies and detectives, and speaks to our unwavering commitment to protecting Metro employees in the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, our riders and the public.”
