A Los Angeles man has been charged with perjury for allegedly submitting multiple fictitious voter registration forms in the months leading up to the November 2024 election.
Bruce Boyer, 63, of Chatsworth, allegedly tried to register the identity of a fictitious person by submitting four handwritten forms signed under penalty of perjury to the Ventura County Registrar of Voters. .
Officials said all four documents contained Mr. Boyer’s home address, and elections officials flagged them as suspicious, leading to the investigation.
The case was reviewed by the Ventura County District Attorney’s Bureau of Investigation, and Mr. Boyer now faces four felony charges of perjury.
Mr. Boyer made his first court appearance on Tuesday and is scheduled to appear again in January for arraignment. He was released on his own recognizance pending his next hearing, the prosecutor’s office said.
