Cathedral police said a Santa Monica man was arrested early Sunday after threatening to bomb the Coachella Music & Arts Festival.
Police were notified of suspicious men from Agua Caliente Casino after security guards were approached by a man who said the security guard was “responsible for the bombing” at Tesla.
Using DMV information, officers began to identify the owner of the vehicle and search for him. While police were searching for the man, they notified law enforcement officers at a festival of threats.
Investigators used Flock Alpr cameras to track the man’s movements through the Coachella Valley and placed his car in Palm Springs just after midnight. He was arrested in the city, and subsequent searches of the vehicle showed he had no weapons, explosives or materials to make the bomb.
The man identified as 40-year-old Davis Dalvish from Santa Monica has been arrested and charged with pose a bomb threat. He is being held on $1 million bail.
Anyone with information about the incident is encouraged to contact Cathedral City Police Sgt. Rick Osborne, 760-202-2448. Anonymous tips can be created by contacting Crime Stoppers at 760-341 Stop.
