The man was taken into custody by Upland Police Department officers, but he later kissed his girlfriend goodbye.
Around 1 a.m. Tuesday, officers spotted a white Chevrolet Tahoe truck that West Covina police wanted on suspicion of fleeing.
Upland police got behind the truck and the driver took off and began a pursuit that continued into Rancho Cucamonga.
The driver stopped in the middle of the road where his girlfriend lived in a nearby home, ran over and the two kissed goodbye, according to a social media post from Upland Police.
The driver, who was on parole for assault with a deadly weapon, turned himself in and was taken into custody. Upland police said he was arrested on multiple felonies.
Officers also found a gun in the man’s car.
