A man from San Gabriel Valley, who is under surveillance who allegedly wielded a weapon and threatened a crime, was arrested Tuesday after leading police in a chase across several highways in Los Angeles, authorities said.
In a news release, Alhambra Police Station officials said they were looking at the male suspect just after 11am due to reports of a potential threat that detectives made a day ago.
When officers tried to put a traffic stop on the suspect in the area of 2121 West Main Street, the man refused to pull, and a pursuit was launched.
“The pursuit follows multiple highways in Los Angeles County, and with the assistance of a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s helicopter, officers safely tracked the suspect’s movements without escalating the highway danger,” police said.

Alhambra police, along with LAPD and California Highway Patrol officials, set up the boundary line and conducted a coordinated search that led to the arrest of the suspect in the 400 block of South New Hampshire Avenue in Los Angeles’ Koreatown area.
Photos posted to Alhambra PD’s Instagram account show that K9 officials and his dog were probably recovered from the suspect, appearing to be an unloaded, semi-automatic 9mm on the sidewalk, but the firearm was not listed in the news release.
No information was provided regarding the suspect’s identity or anything that would involve a criminal threat.
