Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg defeated his moderate challenger and secured a Democrat nomination for another term in his post Tuesday.

President Donald Trump’s prominent legal enemy, Bragg defeated Patrick Timmins, who operated on a more moderate platform. Timmins criticized Bragg for not prosecuting certain crimes, and his campaign highlighted cases of repeatedly targeted attacks by criminals on two court officials.

Bragg, who won Tuesday’s primary with more than 70% of the vote, had secured a conviction against Trump before being re-electioned to the White House in November. Bragg’s office submitted a legal summary to Judge Juan Merchant to keep Trump’s beliefs on the ice until after the second term.

“There is no immunity for the presidential election, and even after the inauguration, the temporary immunity of the defendant as sitting president does not justify the extreme remedy of sacking the unanimous conviction of the ju judge and wiping out the already completed phase of this criminal case,” the court filed Tuesday from Bragg’s office.

Prosecutors demand that they remain in the Trump New York case until 2029 as defense plans to file a “once once” firing claim

It was revealed that Trump was guilty of a 34-count business record in the May 2024 Manhattan incident. Bragg’s office worked to prove that he falsified his business records to hide his $130,000 payments to former porn star Stormy Daniels ahead of the 2016 election that claimed to be a suspected incident with Trump in 2006.

Trump officials have “effectively” and “effectively” cases with “big victory”

Trump has repeatedly defeated it as an example of a law promoted by Democrats to keep him innocent in the case and hurt election efforts before November.

Bragg’s office confirmed that Trump cannot be declared president, but El Chan insisted that he has a variety of options to maintain the case on the ice until 2029, and that Trump will declare it following the second presidential administration.

“[N]o The principle of immunity hampers further procedures prior to the inauguration of the defendant. And even if a judgment has not been concluded at the time of the defendant’s appointment, there is no legal barrier to postponing the judgment until the defendant’s term of office is over,” the filing stated.

The DA’s office argued that staying in cases in litigation would respect the public interest of maintaining the rule of law and maintaining meaningful aspects of the criminal process already underway, while at the same time exempting the former and future president from the immediate obligation of the case. The DA’s office had already asked for a stay in the post-election case. Tuesday’s submission doubled that discussion.

“It is true that people do not dispute that the president’s immunity requires accommodation during his inauguration. However, the extreme remedy of dismissing the indictment and waiveing the ju court’s verdict is not guaranteed in light of multiple alternative accommodations that fully address the concerns raised by the president’s immunity,” their submission states.

Merchant ultimately declared Trump unconditionally discharged, essentially imposing no punishment. There are no prison hours, fines or probation. The sentence also retains the ability to appeal Trump’s beliefs.
