Homeland Security Secretary Christie Noem criticized Sen. Chris Van Hollen on Monday after he and other lawmakers tried to inspect immigration detention facilities.

Van Hollen, a critic of the Trump administration’s voice of illegal immigration attacks, was part of the Maryland legislature delegation, who was denied entry to inspect Baltimore US Immigration Customs Enforcement (ICE) detention facilities.

Representatives, including Senators Van Hollen and Senator Angela, as well as US officials Glenn Evie, Johnny Orzewski Jr., Sarah Elless and Quisi Muhume, were staged in conjunction with their refusal to enter.

“President Trump lied to the American people when he said the Trump administration was simply trying to focus on the worst and worst,” Van Hollen said outside the facility.

In response to the sit-in, Noem posted images of four unidentified illegal immigrants arrested for various crimes, including rape, possession of child pornography, sexual abuse of minors and murder.

“These are the monsters @chrisvanhollen protecting American victims,” she wrote to X.

Rep. Johnny Olszewski, D. Maryland, who was part of Monday’s delegation, said they were denied entry despite following legal requirements for entry.

“Congress has a legal right to inspect ice facilities,” he wrote on social media. “In the report of the inhumane situation, this refusal is surprising. We will not stop fighting for accountability.”

The posting of a response by the Department of Homeland Security accused lawmakers of wanting to have a “photo OP.”

“Rep., if you need to take a photo with a violent, criminal and illegal foreigner you protect, please trade tours,” the Post said. A request must be made in sufficient time for a visit to a detention facility, “In order to ensure that the President’s intrusion against the Constitutional Authority will not intrusion against the President’s constitutional authority, and the request to reduce the time must be approved by the secretary.” ”

Van Hollen has been heavily criticised for his alleged defense of gang member Kilmer Armando Abrego Garcia.

Van Hollen was the first of several Democrats to fly to visit Abrego Garcia after being deported to his country’s high security prison in El Salvador in March.

29-year-old Abrego Garcia has been returned to the US and faces charges in a sealed federal complaint in Tennessee on suspicion of illegal interests and conspiracy to illegally transport illegal aliens for illegal transport.

Many Democrats claim Abrego Garcia is an innocent man who was mistakenly deported, but the administration pointed out considerable evidence that he is a member of the MS-13 gang. He is also allegedly physically abused her multiple times, according to court records filed by his wife Jennifer Vasquez Sula.

“As I’ve said repeatedly, this isn’t about a man. It’s about his constitutional rights and all his rights,” Van Hollen told Fox News Digital in June about the incident. “The administration will have to make that claim in court, as it should have been there forever.”
