Public works crews are approaching a milestone in major wildfire recovery, according to Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass.
The key step is power recovery to almost every home in the Pallisard Fire Zone, where power can be restored on Tuesday, Bus announced Tuesday.
“LADWP works 24 hours a day to restore power to the Pallisard area and their work has been rewarded,” the mayor said. “Recovering power to customers in areas where the heaviest burning is still our biggest challenge, but as we continue to work urgently with our recovery efforts, LADWP will continue to meet the needs of this unprecedented disaster.”

Recovering electricity to your home is not easy. As explained by the mayor’s office, crews must first verify each residential electrical panel to ensure that power is restored, and once that happens, residents turn on the main circuit on the panel. Leave a notification.
Some individual restorations may take more time based on the complexity of the repair. This can be identified once the power is temporarily restored.
“If your home or business remains without power, check the circuit breaker first,” advised LADWP officials. “If you have a home or business damaged or destroyed by a fire and received past notifications, then ignore it.”
Workers are also making progress by restoring water services and ensuring water quality for Pacific grapes. Most Palisades (Zip Code 90272) and surrounding communities, as well as the Pacific Coast Expressway, remain closed to the public.
