Last month, McDonald’s undoubtedly brought the snack wrap back to the menu, undoubtedly filling the chicken-shaped hole in the hearts of longtime fans. However, McDonald’s debuted two types of snack wraps (both made with crispy chicken) in July, but stopped retrieving some other obsolete variations to the item.
“I loved the Big Max Snack Rap. Unfortunately, I couldn’t take it home,” one Ladytor spoke about the cancelled Mac snack rap featuring half the burger patties, and came on McDonald’s menu in the early 2010s.

Others lamented that there was no wrap from the Angus Snack Wrap Line (featuring half of the Angus Burger Patties). Fans also wondered why McDonald’s didn’t get back with the grilled chicken snack wrap.

“I was originally excited about this return until I found out there was no grill in the variety,” writes one Redditor. “I don’t want to [McCrispy] Strip with wrap. Take the OG home!!”
When he announced the return of his latest snack wrap iteration, McDonald’s CEO Chris Kemchinski had not mentioned first what raps would return. In the months leading up to its debut, McDonald’s focused his marketing solely on crunchy chicken varieties.
There may be a clear reason why there are no other varieties. Recent McDonald’s executives have revealed that they intended to expand the McDonald’s line (which originally consisted of sandwiches) to include chicken bids. And, as the original fried chicken snack wraps have been the longest-established of the previous snack wrap line, McDonald’s may have identified an opportunity to reintroduce snack wraps (now made with McCrispy Tenders) to nostalgia-hungry customers.
Reddit users who self-identified as a Michigan restaurant crew suspected that McDonald’s would regain the type of grill, suspecting that cooking takes too long and claims that it was “old and rubbery, rather fast.”

A representative from McDonald’s also did not comment on why the grilled chicken variety was abolished. Also, why Big Mac or Angus versions (which can be replicated with current MacDonald’s ingredients) are not available along with new snack wrap products.
But if the fans are mad about it, they might want to talk.
“Now we’re excited to bring fans to the ranch and spicy snack wrap,” said a representative at McDonalds. “We’ll keep listening to fans about menu innovation.”
