Van Nuis Metro G-Line Station will be closed on Friday due to an improvement project that will add a bridge to the streets along the San Fernando Valley bus line.
The station, parking lot and nearby bike paths will be closed for three years as the Metro begins construction of air bridges on Vanneis Boulevard and Vesper Avenue. The project aims to reduce bus travel time, increase capacity and improve safety between North Hollywood and Chatsworth, Metro said.
The G-Line (also known as the Orange Line) is one of the two private bus routes of the Metro System.
During construction, a detour will be set up between Sepulveda Boulevard and Woodman Avenue for bus riders and cyclists.

Bus riders can take the G-Line bus to travel to Chatsworth and Southwest Corner for a trip to North Hollywood at a temporary stop on the northeast corner of Oxnard Street. Bus riders and cyclists should allow 5-10 minutes extra time depending on traffic to accommodate the expected detours. Customers who want to park at Van Nuys Station must drive to the nearby Sepulveda G Line Station parking lot at 15430 W. Erwin Street, W. Erwin Street, van Nuys, California. Lots are accessible from both Haskell Avenue and Erwin Street. The station’s tap vending machines will be closed during construction. Transit riders derived from the Van Nuys G Line can visit Taptogo.net to buy tap fur or find your nearest tap vendor. Nearby vendors are located at RIA Forwarding, located at 5601 Van Nuys Boulevard and 14440 Victory Boulevard.
The $668 million project will add an aerial bridge to three streets, including Sepulveda Boulevard, later this year.
