The popular Mexican singer known as Dulce died Wednesday at the age of 69, according to his family.
The sister of the romantic ballad signer, who was born in Matamoros, Tamaulipas, confirmed the star’s death in a Facebook post. A message confirming her death was also posted on the artist’s Instagram page.
Details about the cause of death for Dulce, whose real name was Berta Elisa Nogueras Cárdenas, were not immediately available. She was hospitalized in early December for lung surgery due to complications from kidney surgery earlier this year.
