New York Democrat Tom Suozzi supported Cuomo and denounced Mamdani’s comments, writing, “In Israel, it is an attack on terrorists, the first and second intifadas, and “intifada globalization” is “not the subject of interpretation.”
Another New York Democrat, Rep. Richie Torres, said, “For the sake of debate, even if we stipulate, “globalize the intifadas” is not a call to violence (although obviously important), but it is not the speaker’s intentions, but a way that many in the Jewish community receives phrases.”
The emotional Mamdani dealt with accusations that his comments were rooted in anti-Semitism at a press conference on Wednesday.

“There’s a comment that the only good Muslims are dead Muslims. I pose a threat to my life, those I love,” Mamdani added.
But Elisha Weisel, son of Holocaust writers and survivors Ellie and Marion Wiesel, told Fox News Digital that “intifada globalization is a code-switch for Jews,” joining Cuomo’s call to condemn all candidates’ controversial phrases.
“I can’t see the soul of Zoran Mamdani, so when he doubles saying that it’s a good thing to globalize Intifada, I really don’t know if he’s completely naive or evil, or a good trait for the person in charge of our city.
Mamdani’s campaign did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for further comment.
