Scoop: Rep. Mike Collins has repeatedly bids to challenge incumbent Democrat Sen. John Ossoff in Georgia Senate race.
Republicans are spitting their saliva at the opportunity to flip their seats in the video first obtained by Fox News Digital.
“It was never in my plan to run for the US Senate,” Collins said. “I love what I do now. I think it was effective for my district, my state. I love my district.”

“I mean, good, solid, hardworking people,” he continued. “But I also understand that sometimes you don’t do what you want to do, but that’s what you need to do.”
Collins, a two-term lawmaker representing Georgia’s 10th Congressional District, has yet to say in person that he is jumping into the race, and he first consulted with his family and President Donald Trump, saying, “We can be the best and most beneficial help of this mission.”

Lawmakers became a staple on the road during Trump’s campaign last year, and his bill, the Lake Rayleigh Riley Act, was first signed into law by the president in his second term.
Collins argued that Ossoff “doesn’t represent the Georgia values I value so much,” noting that Republicans primarily dominate the nation in recent elections, including Trump’s victory in November.
Still, Ossoff, who is seeking reelection for a second term, was the first Democrat to win a Senate seat in Peach State in nearly 20 years.
Georgia Democrat spokesman Devon Cruz said in a statement on Fox News Digital: “Shortly after I voted to tear my health insurance from 750,000 Georgians, do you want Rep. Mike Collins to give Georgians a promotion?”
Cruz continued. “Collins joined the busy, messy primary, and GOP candidates were seriously hurt, while Sen. John Ossoff has built up a great deal of momentum for Donald Trump’s loyalists to step into the finish line.”
Senate Republicans now view Ossoff’s seat as one of the most viable flip opportunities in the mid-cycle of 2026, where the GOP hopes to maintain and expand the thin majority of the upper chamber.
Trump’s ally Marjorie Taylor Green says she will not run for the Senate.

If Collins jumps all the way into the race, he will face Georgia Republican Rep. Buddy Carter and Georgia Insurance Secretary John King in the Republican primary.
Carter was the first Republican to jump into the contest after Georgia Republican Gov. Brian Kemp was considered a huge favorite to oppose Ossoff.
Recent polls in the race have shown that Collins could have the advantage over his fellow GOP competitors.

The conservative Trafalgar group was found in a survey conducted in April with 1,426 respondents.
However, in a showdown with Ossov, Collins chased the senator with a shy 5-point shyness.
With around 1,200 respondents at the Georgia Republican National Convention earlier this month, Collins took place in another straw vote, which gained support from 39% of those voted compared to Carter’s 13%.
