Palos Verdes Estates Police confirmed that two more human body parts were found Wednesday in the same area where the leg was found.
The foot was found by a beachgoer just before 1 p.m., and the femur was found by searchers near the 6800 block of Paseo del Mar.
This comes shortly after police said a family out for a walk on Christmas morning discovered a human foot on the shoreline.
Police searched the area using dogs trained to detect human remains, but no other traces were found and the latest find was linked to two fishermen who disappeared in the same area on Tuesday. There was no clue as to whether or not it was.
“Our beaches are typically rocky, but it is our understanding that although they are on the shoreline, they are on some rocks,” Aaron Verda of the Rancho Palos Verdes Estates Police Department wrote in the caption. He added: “We are not ruling anything out at this time and are considering all possibilities, but there is no reason to believe that the two are related.”
Neighbors expressed concern after the gruesome discovery.
Palos Verdes Estates police are still investigating, but have not confirmed whether the foot found is related to the discovery of a skull and bones a short distance off the same beach in November.
No other body parts were found and no search parties were scheduled for today.
