Shared electric vehicles are a quick and convenient way to get around Los Angeles, with plenty of grounds throughout the city.
Lime is one of many companies that offer Angelenos shared electric vehicles, such as e-scooters, and is available on almost every street corner in LA. In a media release, the company said that around 3.5 million people have made e-scooter trips of 22 million since its launch in Angel City in 2017.
Currently, ahead of major events such as the 2026 FIFA World Cup and the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, Lime is launching a new fleet of two-wheel rental vehicles, but not scooters. Rather, they are electronic bikes.

“For many years, micromobility has taken many different forms in LA and around the world,” says Karla Owunwanne, senior director of government relations at LIME. “Los Angeles cities and community partners are open to two wheels of shared transport, and they also play a major role in the World Cup, Super Bowl LXI and the Olympics.

Since its launch in LA in 2017, Lime has worked with the LA Department of Transport and businesses in downtown Los Angeles to improve its e-Scooter programme, particularly by coming up with improvements regarding parking.
“Service to complex cities like Los Angeles requires a significant investment. Lime is proud to provide it for years, both in hardware and its employees, helping cities to create jobs and meet climate goals,” the company’s media release said.
