The Riverside County Sheriff’s Office announced that adoptive parents have been arrested on charges of murder, torture and child abuse in connection with the death of a 10-year-old boy.
According to the sheriff’s office, on Nov. 21, after responding to a call about a juvenile in medical distress at a home in Moreno Valley, deputies located Alejandra Marin, 51, and Juan Sanchez Moreno. The suspect (59) was arrested. The boy was taken to hospital by paramedics, where he later died. Investigation suggested signs of neglect and abuse.
Authorities said they would not identify the boy. After the boy’s death, the sheriff’s office sent homicide detectives along with the department’s Special Victims Unit to determine that the boy’s adoptive parents were suspected of abusing him, authorities said.
