A motorcyclist was killed after spreading a sedan across Hawthorne streets Tuesday night, police said.
The Hawthorn Police Department issued a media release early Wednesday morning, saying officers responded to a report of a traffic collision involving a motorcyclist just before 9pm near the intersection of 120th Avenue and Freeman Avenue between Hawthorn Boulevard and Prairie Avenue.
When officers arrived they found a heavily damaged bike and sedan, and an unresponsive motorcyclist was found lying on the road.

A preliminary HPD investigation revealed that the motorcyclist had moved east on the 120th as the sedan tried to cross the street north on Cedar Avenue.
“As a result of this movement, the bikes have wide-ranging the crossing cars,” police said.
