Motorcyclist was killed and two arrested for DUI in a chaotic Orange County trailer crash

Two people were arrested for driving under the influence of drugs after a cluttered RV crash killed a motorcyclist in Orange County early Saturday morning, and authorities are investigating whether motorcyclists are also driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol.

It happened around midnight on May 31, according to the Fullerton Police Department near the intersection of North Euclidean Street and Bustantury Road.

Fullerton officers arrived on scene and found 1993 Harley Davidson and a seriously injured adult male rider lying on the ground.

Nearby, in the middle of the road west of the intersection, police said they had discovered a 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe connected to a 1996 Prowler recreation trailer with “visible collision damage.”

Huntington Beach, listed as a sanctuary city, was a “serious mistake,” the mayor says.

A preliminary investigation by the department found that a woman was driving a Chevrolet and an RV east on West Bustantury Road.

The man in Chevrolet also swapped a spot with the driver and tried to turn the vehicle around, but he made the Chevrolet and RV into jackknifes and blocked both westbound lanes.

It was when the RV spread across the westbound lane that a motorcyclist travelling from North Euclidean Street crashed into the trailer.

Paramedics later arrived at the crash and declared a motorcyclist who was killed at the scene. His identity was not released anytime soon.

“Both an adult female driver and an adult man who tried to move the vehicle were arrested at the scene on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs,” the police department said. “It remains unclear whether drugs or alcohol contribute factors related to the operation of riders’ motorcycles.”
