Shortly after the Senate voted to approve one big, beautiful version of the bill law that Trump supports, Tennessee GOP Rep. Andy Ogres introduced amendments to return the bill to the original home version passed in late May.
The Ogles gave a series of criticisms about the Senate version of the bill after it was passed Tuesday afternoon. This includes complaints that his constituents are not enough to force illegal alien healthcare payments and suspend taxpayer dollars from Green Energy Project grants. Augres also appears to be problematic with the Senate changes to the Senate and local tax (salt) deductions, lamenting that the Senate “has dramatically increased the amount that Tennessee is forced to subsidize state and local taxes for the wealthy people in the Blue State.”
“The Senate fell into unelected staff appointed by Democrats and ran through an unfinished bill so they could return home on July 4th,” Ogles said in X after the bill was passed.
“I don’t work for the senators. I work for the people. So I’ve put forward an amendment to remove their DUD and replace it with a powerful House bill that passed a few weeks ago.

Ogles and other Republicans face issues Tuesday in a Senator’s ruling about whether aspects of the GOP spending package fall under the guidelines needed to qualify for the simple majority of the settlement’s passing threshold. One of these decisions involved requesting provisions that excluded illegal immigrants from Medicaid eligibility to acquire a hypermajority, as opposed to a simple majority of settlements.
“We have a majority in the Senate, and we should behave that way,” R-Texas Rep. Chip Roy posted on Tuesday. “The truth is that Congress is happy to act as a foil to maintain the status quo. It’s not leadership, it’s service to the swamp.”
The Senate began the amendment process on Monday to the House version of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, with lawmakers making numerous amendments. After the Senate completed its amendment, he voted Tuesday afternoon to advance the bill to the House Chamber of Commerce for approval.

The fact that Ogles’ office did not answer questions about whether his modifications to return the Senate version to the original House version would return to the original House version means he is not going to vote in favour of the current Senate version.
Rep. Ralph Norman (Rs.C.) shows he is not hoping to vote for the Senate version and opposes moving forward. And Roy warned that the likelihood of passing the spending package before the July 4 deadline after the Senate changed its House version is “a much lower hell than it was 48 hours ago.”
Both Roy and Norman are present on a strong House Rules Committee and must approve the Senate version for the bill to move forward. R-Md. Rep. Andy Harris told Fox News Tuesday he doesn’t think the Rules Committee vote will pass anytime soon.

“The speakers will then need to decide how to return this to the home framework,” Harris said. “And whether it’s about chasing some of the green new scams the president hates by reducing some of the tax cuts added in the Senate, whether we’ll end up getting there or not, I don’t think it’ll be the next few days.”
Harris also made it clear that he was “no” on allegations that he would advance the Senate version in the current state.
