If you’re planning on visiting Los Angeles County beaches in the near future, officials say there are several areas that aren’t safe for swimming, surfing or playing.
The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health announced Thursday that bacteria levels in the following areas exceed state health standards:
Zuma Creek on Zuma Beach between Zuma Towers 1 and 2 100 yards up and down shore from the Creek Strand Street Extension on Santa Monica Beach 100 yards up and down shore from Lifeguard Tower 24 Pico Kenter Storm Drain Tower 20 on Santa Monica Beach near the south Storm drain 100 yards up and down the coast from Tower 5 100 near Will Rogers State Pulga Storm Drain at Beach 100 yards up and down shore from Solstice Creek storm drain at Dan Blocker County Beach 100 yards up and down shore from Murray Canyon storm drain at Puerco Beach 100 yards up and down shore from public access stairs Inner Cabrillo Beach San Pedro Entire Swimming Area Mother’s Beach in Marina Del Rey Entire Swimming Area Santa Monica Pier in Santa Monica Up and Down 100 Yards Beach from the Pier
But in better news, the following two beach areas have reopened after testing within health standards:
Topanga County Beaches Castle Rock Storm Drain Walnut Creek at Paradise Cove
