The 22-year-old was charged with killing the music supervisor of “American Idol” on Thursday and the husband of a musician who walked to Encino’s house while robbing.
Raymond Boudarian is accused of fatally shooting Robin Kay and her husband Tom DeLuca on July 10, but their bodies were not found by Los Angeles police until after police were sent home for welfare checks.
Boudarian is charged with two counts of murder as he allegedly murdered the couple during a robbery committee, intentionally using firearms and committed multiple murders. He is also charged with robbery. If convicted, Boudarians will face either living without parole or being sentenced to death if the prosecutor seeks the death penalty.
Police said officers visited Encino’s house around the time it was believed that Boudarian was inside.
LAPD responded to reports of possible break-in at 4pm on July 10th and determined that nothing was out of place at the couple’s residence, Lapd Chut said.
Walking officers reported that the property was locked and no one responded to the inside, but the overhead police helicopter reported that they saw nothing suspicious.
Kay and Delca’s bodies were found Monday when officers responded to welfare checks at the couple’s home in the 4700 block of White Oak Avenue. The next day, an officer with the joint LAPD/FBI task force arrested Boudarian.
According to police, Kay, the music director of “American Idol” and her rock musician husband, DeLuka, had returned to the $4.5 million Encino’s house when she came to the Boudelian, who was already inside.
The Boudelian is said to have shot Kay and DeLuca multiple times. The couple’s home was well strengthened, but the suspect said they were able to pass through an unlocked door.
According to Golan, the department received a call at 4pm on the day the couple was killed, and the caller explained that they saw the person climbing onto the property. Golan said officers went to the house but had no response and no sense of hesitation anywhere, and that helicopters were flying across the facility as it was difficult to access.
By then, the couple had already been killed, LAPD officials said. Boudarian left about 30 minutes later, police said.
The delay in finding Kay and Delca’s bodies was similar to the other two murders in the Valley, where police called it the location and quickly found the victim and did not leave the scene.
Menashe Hydra’s body was found on April 26th in his fifth-floor valley village apartment after assailants broke into a nearby unit and jumped onto his squad from the balcony to attack him, investigators said.
Three days ago, the neighbor called 911 and reported that he had heard screams and the struggle from the apartment. The officer answered those calls, knocked on the door, and left without finding anything. Eric Escamilla, 27, was eventually charged with murder, along with unrelated murders from 2022.
The same day Hydra’s body was found, police found the body of Alexandre Maudbaze, who had been beaten and died inside a Woodland Hills home. In that case, law enforcement sources said a woman inside the house was called LAPD around 12:30am, reporting that three people had broken into her home and beating her important others before suddenly cutting out. The 911 operator tried to make multiple calls without success. Shortly before 1am, officers arrived at the house, but no one answered the door. There was no noise inside the house and the blinds were dropping, sources told The Times.
ModeBadze was later found by an officer who was severely beaten with a traumatic head injury and eventually died from his injury. Authorities discovered the suspicious killer of ModeBadze hours after the incident.
In the case of this encino, Golan said the department will investigate why the 70 couples were not previously discovered and why the officials involved acted appropriately. LAPD officials said the front door of the house was not visible from the outside during the initial response.
Boudarian was charged last year with three cases of misdemeanor battery, according to court records. These charges ultimately deleted a series of hearings related to his mental abilities and investigations of the reserve.
