(The Hill) – Tech billionaire Elon Musk said on Saturday that he officially formed the “American Party,” a third political faction comparable to Democrats and Republicans.
“In a two-to-one coefficient, you need a new party and you’ll have it. When it comes to bankrupting our country with waste and grafts, we live in one party system, not democracy,” Musk wrote in a post on his social platform X, which he owns after investigating whether he wants a third party.
“Today, the American Party is formed to give you your freedom back,” he added.
The party page was published shortly after his post. There, they praised themselves as a group that “built on common sense, not consultants.” He has already acquired 19,200 followers.

Musk has been untold President Trump for weeks and threatened to form a third party ahead of the midterm elections after passing the GOP spending package.
Musk opposed the law due to provisions that deducted electric vehicle credits for consumers, and assured him that he would hit Tesla, his company.
“The way we crack the Uniparty system is by using a variant of how Epaminondas shattered the myth of Sparta’s invincibility in Leuktra. There is a very focused force on the exact location of the battlefield.”
Steve Bannon, Trump’s former chief strategist, denounced the efforts on Friday, suggesting that Musk be deported to create a third party.
“Four, the Clown. Elmo the Mook, formerly known as Elon Musk, Elmo the Mook. He’s only one that can do this in another smear today – he thought about it, and he’s now up and voted to start the American Party, starting an American party.”

“No, brother, you’re not American. If you’re South African and you spend plenty of time proving that fact, you should be deported because it’s a crime of what you did — among many,” Bannon added.
Amid the contest over a “big, beautiful bill,” Trump is threatening to launch a federal investigation into billionaires’ businesses through the once-in-chief Government Efficiency (DOGE).
“Elon may get more subsidies than any other person in history, without subsidies, but Elon will likely need to close his shop and return to South Africa,” he continued. “There’s no more rocket launches, satellites or electric vehicles. Our country saves a lot of money.”
The president added, “Maybe we should have Doge good, hard work, look at this and see the great money that will be saved!!”
