Massachusetts native and astronaut Sunita Williams is speaking for the first time Monday since returning to Earth earlier this month.
The former Needham resident is talking with fellow NASA astronaut Butch Wilmore at the Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas. You can watch the 2:30pm EET press conference live on the video player above.
The two were in space on the International Space Station for 286 days before they finally returned on March 18th. They were originally supposed to spend just eight days in space, but due to issues with the Boeing Star Liner, their stay was extended to nine months.
Williams did two space walks in between, and she did numerous experiments and broke several records.
Seven months into orbit, local astronauts performed their first spaceship in 12 years.
However, everyone returning to Needham’s house waited with concern for Williams to hear from him.
NBC10 Boston will be attending a press conference on Monday and will be talking one-on-one with local astronauts.
