New York City Democratic candidate Zohran Mamdani has a very deep connection with activism against one of America’s closest allies, a report found by anti-Semitic watchdog group Canary Mission.
With New York City’s mayoral primary and Israeli-Iran conflict still fresh, the Canary Mission warns that “voting for Mamdani is a vote for New York’s anti-Israel turmoil.”
I-Vt. Mamdani, approved by Senator Bernie Sanders, is one of the top candidates for the Democratic mayoral nomination in New York City. He is facing former Democratic governor Andrew Cuomo. Eric Adams, the current mayor of New York City, is running for reelection as an independent.
According to a new report from the Canary Mission, Mamdani is a regular and prominent figure in New York City’s anti-Israel protest scene, and as a member of the New York State Assembly, he introduced legislation to crack down on nonprofits sending money to Israel.

The report said Mamdani joined the protests against Israel just days after October 7, 2023, and joined Hamas terrorist attacks that killed 1,200 Israelis.
According to the Canary Mission, Mamdani “did not stumble over anti-Israel activities. He was raised in it.” The report details how Mamdani was born to Muslim Indian parents Mahmoud Mamdani and Mira Naia in Kampala, Uganda.
Mahmoud, Mahmoud, the father of Mamdani, is an anthropology professor at Columbia University in New York and was at the epicenter of the Pro-Palestinian protests on the US Canary Mission.
According to the report, in a recent course entitled “Settlers and Indigenous Peoples,” Mahmoud promoted the concept of “the need for violence in the anti-colonial struggle.”

The report also said Mahmoud was wearing a Colombian vest and was one of Colombian faculty members who tried to stop Colombian economic student Avi Weinberg, a small group of Jewish classmates from entering the pro-Palestinian campus.
The faculty refused to answer when asked why students weren’t on the lawn. Crowd members suggested that it was unfair that faculty members were deciding who could and could not enter the area when they were part of the university campus where faculty pays for attendance.

Meanwhile, Mamdani’s mother, Mira Naia, is the filmmaker who signed an open letter this year, this year, calling for the Academy of Motion Picture a Science and Israeli actress Gadot to ban her from attending the Oscars.

Both Mamdani’s parents support boycotts, sale and sanctions (BDS) movements, which encourage economic pressure on the Israeli state over allegations of “genocide” against Palestinians.
