The New York City tourist helicopter company has shut down the operation last week as it was involved in a terrible crash on the Hudson River that claimed six lives, including children, federal officials said.
The tragic crash on April 10 occurred near the New Jersey coastline, reporting that around 3:18pm, smoke swirling through the chopper and plunging into the water as the helicopter swirled.
Five families visited from Spain along with three young children, as well as a pilot, a US Navy veteran, have died.
Their bodies were later recovered from the river.

“The New York Helicopter Tour (the company involved in the fatal collision in Hudson earlier this week) will soon close the operation.”
FAA officials added that they continue to support the investigation into the crash being carried out by the National Road Safety Commission and are beginning to review tour operator licenses and safety records.
“Finally, safely and widely on the topic of helicopters: The FAA has already analysed airplane/helicopter hotspots across the country, and will hold a helicopter safety panel on April 22nd to discuss the findings, risks and additional mitigation options,” the post continued.
Authorities went on to say that the FAA’s main priority is to protect the flying masses.
