A newborn baby was found dead in an alley on Skid Row Thursday, and police believe the baby was dropped from a fourth-story window.
The Los Angeles Fire Department said the newborn baby boy may have been dropped from a fourth-floor toilet in a nearby building in the 500 block of San Pedro Street around 5:30 a.m., a Los Angeles Police Department spokesperson said. announced that he had died.
At one point, bystanders were performing CPR on the newborn, ABC7 reported.
Police then found and questioned the woman, who was taken to a nearby hospital for pelvic bleeding at 2:30 a.m. Thursday. The woman was taken into custody and released pending further investigation, police officials said.
