Three people, including a newlywed, have been charged with armed robbery at a smoke shop, doughnut shop and convenience store in Southern California during two weeks of crimes last year, the Justice Department announced Wednesday.
Antonio Lamar Brando, 36, Abigail Lucky of North Hollywood, 49, and 23, Ronnie Tucker of Long Beach, commits robbery business transactions and 3 Hobbs Act robbery intervenes in commercial transactions. He was charged with one of the conspiracies. , and one count of Hobbs attempted robbers.
Brand and Tucker were charged with an additional count of four counts of firearms wielding to promote crimes of robbery and violence. Brands are also accused of being a felony each carrying a firearm and ammunition.
The Hobbs Act prohibits actual robbery or attempted robbery or extortion that affects interstate or foreign commercial transactions.
All three defendants have been behind the bar since last year.
According to the indictment, the trio robbed 12 stores, including one smoke store in Tustin, nine 7-Elevens and two donut shops in both LA and OC.
Brand and Tucker usually entered their respective buildings, but Lucky acted as escape drivers.
On February 6, 2024, Brando and Lucky drove to Las Vegas and were legally married before returning to the next robbery on February 8, 2024.
The last robbery occurred on February 14th, 2024 six days later.
A formal trial date is scheduled for May 6th.
